I benefitted greatly at cassiobury court. I came in willing to work hard and overcome my mental blockages which kept me relapsing. The one to one’s with the therapist and going through the steps really humbled me. I know now how my head works and will never take my sobriety for granted ever again. I have a structure back in my life I.e food, sleep, exercise and have the tools I need to push on and lead a good and spiritual life. Thank you to all the Cassiobury team. From the housekeeping staff to management has been excellent.

I would strongly recommend to anyone to stay for 28 days like I did as its turned my life around. From a massively heavy drinker and cocaine user to give me the chance for a good life here on end.

Id like to thank everyone at Cassiobury Court and I mean everyone, nobody excluded, who helped me with my recovery. I was always treated with love and respect. Everyone is helpful, kind and always very professional with a great sense of humour

This is the most wonderful place, I was so scared and afraid on my first day but within hours I found myself laughing and feeling safe – I just knew I was in the right place.

The staff are simply out of this world. The location is peaceful, beautiful and the accommodation/food excellent

My journey at Cassiobury helped me get on the right side of the road, I stayed focused and happy to say – today I’m still sober

Today I can start living “one day at a time”, they have given me a new life filled with hope, peace and love. Ive never felt happier

I’ve very recently attended the Cassiobury Court rehab facility and highly recommend the services provided. Set in a quiet location with enclosed courtyard the bedrooms, tutorial rooms and dining rooms are well maintained, impeccably clean and mostly modern internally
The biggest plus is the wealth of experience and quality of counsellors, tutors and many of the supporting staff who themselves are recovering alcoholics/ addicts.
Conducted in a structured but relaxed atmosphere the breadth and depth of tuition and counselling is such that it stimulates the open, positive participation of Clients whilst always being supportive of both the group and the individual.
This is greatly enhanced with the attendance of local ‘live’ external CA meetings, zoom meetings and visiting ‘shares’ from recovering addicts.
With superb catering and even a washing and cleaning service included
It’s an experience that bettered my expectations and was great fun also.

I needed to be separated from alcohol and initially booked in for a two week alcohol detox. A couple of days in however i knew i was in a good 12 step based rehab. I decided then another 2 weeks was necessary to get a good solid start for my recovery journey. I have experience of a 12 step program, it had worked for me for some years prior. Cassiobury Ct had a good, varied program. I learnt so much more about myself and addiction. The staff were all compassionate and knowledgeable. Many had been where i was. I felt safe in CC. I was fortunate to be surrounded by very supportive peers, we cried together and we laughed together. I walked in feeling such a failure , since leaving i have held my head high. Thank you for the love CC when I struggled to love myself.

The only way that I can start this review is by saying that Cassiobury Court saved my life. I have had a severe problem with alcohol for over 10 years and I almost lost everything, but due to the care, consideration and commitment the facility has to offer, I have been given the opportunity to start again and live a full life with sobriety. The sessions have not only taught me more about the illness and severity of it, but has also equipped me with the coping mechanisms and skills to manage those negative feelings and maintain a happy & healthy lifestyle. Each Recovery Practitioner provides a different approach and continued to show their professionalism and dedication to the cause before and even after my stay. I will be forever grateful to Cassiobury and I couldn’t recommend it more.

When Should You Consider Drug or Alcohol Rehab?

Going to residential rehab can be a big investment, so it’s important to know that it is the right option for you. Whether you need rehab should be based on how your substance use is affecting your health and everyday life. It might be useful for you, especially if you need clinically supervised detox, local treatment has not been effective or staying at home makes recovery efforts harder.

Signs of Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Knowing the signs of alcohol or drug addiction can help you identify sooner if you have a problem. This can allow you to get help before your situation worsens.

Common signs of addiction include:

  • Increased tolerance.
  • Experiencing withdrawal symptoms
  • Using larger amounts or using for longer than intended
  • Failed attempts to reduce or stop substance use
  • Strong cravings
  • Prioritising substances over daily responsibilities
  • Continued use despite negative consequences
  • Becoming more secretive or isolating yourself
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Declining physical or mental health

Drug Addictions We Treat at Cassiobury Court

Not all substances affect people in the same way. There are varying physical and psychological patterns of dependence, so different treatment approaches may be needed.

Substances we treat at Cassiobury Court include:

Our medically managed detoxification may be right for you if you are addicted to certain substances, but it is not always required for every substance or person. An assessment will help inform whether you need to detox.

Alcohol Addiction and Dependence Treatment

Though socially acceptable to drink, continued heavy drinking can develop into a harmful psychological and physical dependence.

Signs that your relationship with alcohol has developed into a serious addiction include:

  • Increasing tolerance
  • Drinking more often or in greater amounts
  • Finding it hard to stop once you’ve started drinking
  • Failed attempts to cut down
  • Experiencing withdrawal symptoms when you drink less

Though you may be ready to stop drinking, suddenly ceasing your alcohol intake can be medically dangerous if you are physically dependent. A medically managed alcohol detox can help you safely navigate through withdrawal in a safe environment with professional support.

Residential and Outpatient Addiction Treatment Options in Ferndown

There are two main options when it comes to addiction treatment: inpatient residential treatment and community-based support.

Residential rehab provides you with structured treatment in an environment away from familiar triggers and access to alcohol or drugs. You have the time to focus totally on recovery, working through a daily routine and surrounded by addiction professionals to support you.

Outpatient treatment in your community allows for flexibility. It can be appropriate for those with a lower withdrawal risk, in a stable family environment with a strong support system and able to attend regular appointments.

There are many free drug and alcohol services in Dorset. The council has listed organisations such as REACH and LiveWell Dorset as good resources in the community for those who are struggling.

Call Cassiobury Court today at 0800 001 4070 for a confidential assessment to help determine which treatment setting is right for you.

Residential Rehab at Cassiobury Court

Knowing what’s ahead can help ease any worries. At Cassiobury Court, we offer personalised treatment programmes that are guided by finding the best path forward for you.

Addiction Assessment and Admission

Our admissions process is simple but thorough. During your initial enquiry, we’ll get key information about your addiction, the severity of it, your detox needs, and your previous treatment history and from this, we’ll come up with a suitable treatment option.

Once an admission date has been decided and deposit paid, we can arrange travel if needed. Upon arrival, you’ll undergo a thorough in-person assessment, reviewing needs, risks and recovery goals to create a personalised care plan within 24–48 hours of arrival.

Medically Managed Drug and Alcohol Detox

If you are physically dependent on a substance, detoxification is needed to help you end this dependence. For more effective recovery, detox should be followed by treatments.

At Cassiobury Court, we provide a medically managed detoxification that is designed to support safe withdrawal, helping you be as comfortable as possible during a stressful time.

Not everyone needs to go through detox, and whether you go through it depends on several factors, including:

  • The substance used, how much you take, and the frequency
  • The duration of dependence
  • Previous withdrawal history
  • Physical and mental health.
  • Whether you take other medications or substances

Addiction Therapy and Psychological Treatment

The treatments you’ll take part in are dependent on your needs and recovery aims. Our range of therapies that you may take part in includes:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Schema Therapy
  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Motivational Enhancement
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Coping Skills Development
  • Meaningful Daily Activities
  • Psychoeducation
  • Recovery Planning
  • Legal and Discharge Planning

Addiction and Co-occurring Mental Health Problems

Alcohol or drug addiction can often occur with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression or trauma-related symptoms. During the admissions process, the assessment can help inform us as to whether you need more specialised support to treat both addiction and mental health problems simultaneously.

We take this considered approach to ensure that the treatment you receive doesn’t undermine any progress you make with your overall wellbeing.

Family Support During Rehab

Addiction does not only affect the person using substances. The effects will ripple out, impacting partners, relatives, carers and wider support networks.

We encourage family members and carers to be as involved in the recovery process as everyone agrees is best. To help relatives understand more about addiction and have a space to discuss their experiences and ask questions, we put on a weekly Family Support Group every Saturday.

The support we give may help families with:

  • Improving communication
  • Creating healthier boundaries
  • Helping to prepare for your loved one’s return home

Any family involvement will be dependent on your treatment plan and preferences.

Recovery Planning and Support After Rehab

We will help you prepare for a return to Ferndown whilst you are still at Cassiobury Court. During treatment, we will help you to engage with organisations such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous so that you are familiar with recovery communities before leaving.

With our aftercare services, we’ll help you with relapse triggers, coping strategies, healthier routines and provide continuing professional support.

Local drug and alcohol services in Dorset can also be a great source of support when you return to Ferndown.

Our aftercare support is provided for 12 months free of charge for those who complete a 28 residential treatment programme at our clinic.
