Drug and Alcohol Rehab Workington

If you are dealing with substance misuse issues, you’re certainly not alone. Alcohol misuse in Cumbria has historically tracked above national averages. Recent assessment data for the region indicate that there are around 5,594 adults estimated to be dependent on alcohol and approximately 2,400 individuals using opiates and crack.

Residential help is available for alcohol and drug addiction and treatment can be considered regardless of how long the problem has been present.

Is Rehab the Right Choice?

Signs of addiction can vary between individuals and depending on the substance involved, but can include:

  • Increased tolerance
  • Withdrawal symptoms
  • Loss of control over use
  • Failed attempts to stop
  • Prioritising substances over responsibilities
  • Continued use despite consequences
  • Secrecy, isolation or relationship problems
  • Declining physical or mental health

Rehab is an effective way of treating addiction, but it’s not the right choice for everyone. It’s important to consider factors including physical dependence, potential withdrawal symptoms, mental health, home stability, risk, previous treatment and the effect of substance use on everyday life when assessing the best methods of treatment.

Inpatient or residential rehab treatment involves living onsite for the duration of the rehab programme. This allows for a highly focused and intensive treatment programme delivered with round-the-clock care in a safe and comfortable environment away from any triggers associated with your prior drinking or drug use.

Community-based treatment is less intensive but is more flexible and may be more suitable for some people. Home stability, the presence of a support network and withdrawal risks may affect whether inpatient or outpatient care is more suitable.

This is a treatment centre of the highest calibre. The staff are all highly professional, knowledgeable, approachable and caring. They are a hope-filled resource for any addiction advice and life advice.

The wholistic approach of the treatment itself was highly beneficial. As a brief overview, it encompassed:

Group sessions, which was a great opportunity to learn about addiction, effective methods of controlling thoughts, emotions and how to incorporate these new skills into daily life and recovery.

Mindfulness sessions that taught us the basics of meditation, breathing techniques and emotional regulation.

One-to-one sessions with my key worker gave me the guidance needed to incorporate the learned material into an easy to follow recovery plan. My key worker also identified various areas of additional support which will further my recovery both during my stay at Cassiobury Court and in my general daily life. I found the private sessions with the remarkable therapists and psychologist extremely valuable for realigning my values in life so as to seek solace in my pursuits as well as becoming more emotionally centred. As a result I now see the joys in life and not the negatives.

On a final note, I commend their high endeavours to offer clean, safe and comfortable living quarters with delicious hot food. They even took care of my laundry for me so that I was able to focus on my health and recovery without distraction.

If you are seeking recovery by means of treatment and NOT
punishment then Cassiobury Court is quite literally a LIFE SAVER.

A really great place to get back on your feet and begin recovery. Staff could not be more helpful, therapy and groups are generally excellent. Rooms are very clean and well appointed, though size and ensuite is a bit of a lottery. Food is really very good, everyones tastes are catered for and in abundance. Snacks water juices, tea’s and coffee’s available 247. I would highly recommend Cassio to anyone looking to get sober change there life.

I’ve very recently attended the Cassiobury Court rehab facility and highly recommend the services provided. Set in a quiet location with enclosed courtyard the bedrooms, tutorial rooms and dining rooms are well maintained, impeccably clean and mostly modern internally
The biggest plus is the wealth of experience and quality of counsellors, tutors and many of the supporting staff who themselves are recovering alcoholics/ addicts.
Conducted in a structured but relaxed atmosphere the breadth and depth of tuition and counselling is such that it stimulates the open, positive participation of Clients whilst always being supportive of both the group and the individual.
This is greatly enhanced with the attendance of local ‘live’ external CA meetings, zoom meetings and visiting ‘shares’ from recovering addicts.
With superb catering and even a washing and cleaning service included
It’s an experience that bettered my expectations and was great fun also.

I am Sam and I arrived at Cassiobury Court for 28 days at the end of May. This was my second rehab experience.

I cannot praise Cassiobury Court enough. Each day was well structured and every group session was designed to give you different tools to sobriety. I learnt so much from all the therapists and key workers that were taking the sessions due to my lack of understanding of this illness. I was in a place where I was made to feel comfortable and no question were silly which encouraged me to dig deeper and ask questions around my illness and myrecovery.

Cassiobury Court approach to recovery, worked very well for me. It was not like Boot Camp. They actually gave me time to digest the information that was given and time to absorb what was said they kind of gave me the balance to learn, but also do every day life things, I also had time to reflect and focus on myself

I would encourage any newcomers to rehab to engage in many group sessions as they can and take out as much as they can out of these sessions the 12 step AA program was explained to me in such a simple way and gave me the confidence to work it.

I would like to give a special thanks to my key worker as she has helped me find a a new sober, Sam. My key worker from the start has been open and honest which has helped me with my recovery.

I would like to also thank all the staff at Cassiobury Court that have had an impact on my road to recovery.

A special thanks to the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff, as by them doing what they do gave me time to focus on myself and not have to worry about cooking and cleaning. The kitchen staff have made sure that I have been eating properly and have helped me build up my strength.

Overall, Cassiobury Court is the place to come to if in need of a medical detox or need to understand what is involved in recovery and give you the opportunity on how to get away from addiction It’s like being given a second sober life.

I cannot thank Cassiobury Court enough.

Addictions We Treat at Cassiobury Court

Drug Addictions

Compulsive drug use can take a serious toll on physical and mental wellbeing, as well as impacting relationships, work, finances and pretty much every aspect of daily life.

Different drugs can have different short- and long-term effects and also require different detoxification and treatment approaches.

At Cassiobury Court we offer tailored treatment for addiction to various types of drug, including:

Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol is freely available, legal and socially acceptable, but an alcohol addiction can be every bit as destructive and difficult to break free from. It can be shockingly easy to slide from regular drinking to harmful drinking and alcohol dependence.

Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can be particularly unpleasant and potentially dangerous. They can even prove fatal in severe cases, so it’s important not to stop suddenly without professional support when physical dependence may be present. Supervised alcohol detox can help you sober up safely, and therapeutic treatment can help address the psychological aspects of alcohol addiction.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

Addiction and mental health difficulties often exist at the same time, with one feeding the other in various ways. Treating both sides at the same time can be important, as leaving one untreated can lead to relapse further down the line. This approach is generally known as dual diagnosis treatment.

The Rehab Process

Choosing rehab treatment can be daunting, but our friendly and professional admissions team will guide you through every stage.

Achievable improvements associated with rehab can include greater stability, improved well-being, healthier coping strategies, and reconnection with work, family, and everyday life.

Admission

Our admissions process is designed to simplify the process of getting you from an initial enquiry to the point where you are starting treatment. It includes a clinical assessment, tailored treatment planning, payment, travel arrangements, and admission to the facility.

Medically Supervised Detox

Some substances, such as opioids and alcohol, can have very challenging and potentially dangerous withdrawal stages. Supervised withdrawal and symptom management can help bring you safely through detoxification, with medical requirements varying by substance and individual health.

Treatments and Therapies

Therapeutic treatments can help address the root causes of substance misuse and the psychological aspects of addiction. Techniques used can include individual and group therapy, behavioural work such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy, wellbeing support and relapse prevention.

Aftercare and Relapse Prevention

Recovery is an ongoing process rather than a single step. Rehab will give you the tools and knowledge you need to maintain your recovery but aftercare incorporating continuing support and connections with recovery services in Workington and Cumberland can provide extra help when you need it.

Length of Treatment

7-, 14- and 28-day programmes are common, but longer care programmes may be more suitable in appropriate cases.

Why Choose Our Rehab Centre?

Structured residential care gives you the best chance of making a full and long-lasting recovery, with confidential and individually planned treatment. Leaving your immediate home environment can be beneficial in terms of both privacy and putting distance between your usual triggers and the people and places associated with drinking or drug use.
