When Should You Consider Inpatient Drug or Alcohol Rehab?

Addiction is a problem that may worsen without intervention. You should consider seeking professional help if you feel that your substance use has begun to affect your daily life.

The clearest indications you may need help include:

  • Loss of control over alcohol or drug use
  • Previous unsuccessful attempts to stop
  • Worsening physical or mental health
  • Withdrawal symptoms are severe and require medical supervision

Signs of Drug and Alcohol Addiction

No one’s experience of addiction is the same, but some signs come up time and time again in people. Signs you may be experiencing include:

  • Increased tolerance
  • Strong cravings
  • Prioritising alcohol or drugs over responsibilities
  • Using or drinking more than intended
  • Becoming more secretive or isolating yourself

Drug Addictions We Treat

Not every substance can be treated the same way. How they affect you, treatment methods, and potential risks mean treatment should be tailored to you.

Drug addiction treatments we provide include:

Considering Alcohol Rehab at Cassiobury Court

Alcohol can be just as devastating as a drug addiction, especially because drinking is much more common and socially acceptable. Heavy drinking can quickly turn into a physical and psychological dependence, so it’s important to know the signs that this could be happening.

You should consider an alcohol rehab if:

  • Drinking more frequently or in larger amounts
  • Struggle to control your drinking
  • Have tried to cut down and can’t
  • Experience withdrawal when you stop or cut down

Stopping alcohol suddenly can be fatal. You should consider a medically managed alcohol detox if you experience severe withdrawal symptoms.

My experience at CC has been truly life-changing. During my 4-week stay I managed to turn my life around with the help of the recovery programme CC has given me. All staff are very professional, supportive, friendly and approachable. I could turn to anyone at any time of the day if I needed help or simply anyone to talk to. The sessions are very informative and engaging. The feeling of community is unparallelled. I enjoyed a combination of 1-2-1 meetings/therapy sessions, group workshops, creative sessions and social activities. taught about multiple concepts and techniques to enable my recover. The facility itself, alongside with the quality of food and housekeeping is excellent. The atmosphere at CC made me feel safe, welcomed and understood. I would strongly recommend CC to any sufferingaddicts seeking a long-term recovery. My only suggestion was to arrange activities between group meetings and some exercise equipment. The table tennis table and the TV in the main group meeting room needs fixing for normal TV programmes. Apart fruthe issues above I would recommend CC for rehabilitation

I have spent some time at Cassiobury Court over the last 6 months and cannot speak more highly of the experience. I admitted myself for alcohol addiction and was very scared when I arrived and did not have any idea what to expect. The staff could not have been kinder to me. I wanted to leave on day 2 because I was very anxious and out of my comfort zone, but fortunately staff members calmed me down and I ended up staying which I am very glad about. The schedule is very good with group sessions, some one on one sessions and therapy sessions.
The food is excellent and the chefs are very accommodating if you wish to have something different. There is a daily trip to the local shop to get any bits you may need.
All the staff are amazing, the recovery workers, the management, the chefs and kitchen staff and all that work at Cassiobury are all so caring and it really shows.
You have time to get to know the rest of the group and I ended up building close bonds and have kept in contact with many that I met in Cassiobury (and I bump into people I met at meetings outside as well as on the aftercare calls).
All in all, if your are considering a treatment centre then I would highly recommend Cassiobury Court, I am very grateful for my time there.

    Where do I even start…
This has been my second time in there as a year ago when I was there, I didn’t take the program seriously enough and I just wanted to get clean from drugs but not follow the 12 step program. However after having a few months sobriety, then relapsing as I didn’t do what was suggest to me! I ended up going back for 28 days.
Let me tell you, that this experience was a one in a lifetime and I took everything on board, attended all sessions and did exactly what I was told!
Every single member of staff at cassiobury go above and beyond for their clients. They put time and effort into all of us and someone is always there for you to talk to day or night.
There is a huge range of sessions which you can attend and this give you the knowledge of your addiction. You also have counselling sessions once a week which helps massively🙏🏼
Cassiobury court feels like your home with your family. Leaving today was so tough as I left so many amazing people behind there. However this is the new start of my journey, I have the right tools behind me this time and I would never of been able to do it without cassiobury.
Also big up the chiefs there! The food is AMAZING!!!!! I put on over a stone in 4 weeks…I think that says it all!
Thank you cassiobury for giving me a new and improved way of living.

My last day of a 28 day programme at Cassio, what can I say? The best decision I ever made, the staff are amazing, kind, considerate, nothing is too much and they always know everyone’s name so a very personal touch. The group sessions are so informative and with lots of humour thrown in. Food, fantastic Alan the chef is great.
Therapists and practitioners are top notch! Highly recommend Cassio, and the more you put into your recovery the more you will get out. I am leaving a different person and with tools to work the programme once those gates open!
    Thanks Cassio!!!

It’s a pleasure to have been a client at Cassiobury Court. From the moment I arrived I felt like a welcome part of the family, it’s non judgmental and compassionate approach to recovery has differed from any center which I have previously attended.
The structure allowed me to develop at my own pace and to work through my recovery journey, which started with me at an all time low. When I entered I was a shell of a person, after a toxic relationship. My substance misuse and eating disorder was out of control and my health, mental and physical, was deteriorating rapidly.

The staff, each with there own expertise and experience guided me compassionately and from a genuine place of kindness and warmth.

The facilities, all departments from housekeeping, kitchen to admin and support staff, have made a genuine difference to the person I am leaving as.
Strong, rebuilt and confident. Ready to step into a life of sobriety and positivity.

I have made life long friends and made life long changes thanks to Cassiobury.

I can genuinely recommend Cassiobury, to anyone who has found themselves in the depths of there addiction, they will help you find the path out, however unmanageable life may seem.

All my love to the team there and to the clients past, present and future

I stayed at Cassiobury Court for 28 days in December 2021 to January 2022 and I’m now 110 days clean and sober. The level of care and support you receive here from all the staff is outstanding. From admissions, to leaving through to aftercare I cannot thank everybody enough. They tirelessly go above and beyond to help every individual to get them back on track with detox, step work, one-to-one therapy, group therapy, acupuncture, fitness and good food. Each patient is different and the staff keep a very close eye on each individuals personal circumstances and try to guide them to the best of their abilities. Truely inspirational as have all been through the hell of addiction themselves so there is zero judgement. If you want it bad enough this is the safest environment to be in. I actually miss them all!!!

What Happens During Residential Rehab at Cassiobury Court?

We personalise your treatment based on information we gather during your initial call and when you arrive.

Though your experience may differ from others, there are common touchpoints to be aware of.

Addiction Assessment and Admission

We make our admissions process as simple as possible. During your confidential initial enquiry, we’ll take information such as your addiction and treatment history to get an idea of suitable treatment options. During this call, we can finalise an admission date, travel arrangements, and secure your spot with a deposit.

On admission day, you’ll go through a medical and recovery assessment to ensure you are healthy enough to complete treatment, figure out your detox requirements, talk about your treatment plan and figure out your recovery goals.

From this, a personalised care plan is developed within 24–48 hours of your admission.

Medically Managed Drug and Alcohol Detox

The first stage of effective addiction treatment is detox. We provide medically assisted detox, administering medication to ease severe withdrawal symptoms. All this will take place in an environment that is safe and calm, where you’ll be under 24/7 care.

Not everyone will need a detox, and requirements can differ depending on your health, whether you take other medications, the substance you are addicted to and how long you have been using or drinking.

Addiction Therapy and Psychological Treatment

The main work of rehab is done in therapy. We provide a wide range of therapies (not all of which you’ll participate in) to help you get a better grasp on your addiction and begin making positive behavioural changes.

Our therapies include:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Schema Therapy
  • Trauma-Informed Care
  • Motivational Enhancement
  • Relapse Prevention
  • Coping Skills Development

Recovery Planning and Support After Rehab

We’ll help you prepare for life beyond rehab by helping you work out a recovery plan. You’ll begin to develop skills to help with relapse prevention in treatment, such as knowing your triggers, learning healthier coping strategies and routines.

We encourage you to start connecting with support groups that can help you outside of rehab, such as NA, AA and CA. Engaging with local support in Swadlincote, such as through Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, can help you strengthen your recovery efforts.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment Plans

Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression can occur alongside addiction, complicating treatment. The assessment on arrival can help us determine whether a more cautious, integrated approach is needed to treat both your mental health and addiction issues.

If your needs are more complex and urgent, then additional specialist mental health support might be needed.

Family Support During Rehab

Addiction very rarely just impacts the person using a substance.

We understand this and offer family support to help relatives understand addiction, improve communication, establish healthy boundaries and prepare for a loved one’s return home. Any family involvement should be guided by your preferences and treatment plans.

Every Saturday at the clinic, we hold a Family Support Group, giving loved ones a space to share experiences and receive additional support.

How Long Does Residential Rehab Last?

Your time at Cassiobury Court will depend on your clinical and recovery needs, influenced by factors such as:

  • Severity of addiction
  • Detox requirements
  • Progress during rehab
  • Time needed for therapy and relapse-prevention work

We offer various programme lengths:

  • 10 days
  • 14 days
  • 21 days
  • 28 days
  • 28+ days
