Drug and Alcohol Rehab Abingdon-on-Thames

If you are in Abingdon-on-Thames and looking for professional addiction treatment, Cassiobury Court can help you.

Addiction is a persistent problem in Oxfordshire. It has been reported that there are 60 alcohol-related and around 20 drug-related deaths each year.

Many who need and want help don’t know where to turn. If you are going through addiction, you should know that professional help is available and nearby. At Cassiobury Court, we treat both drug and alcohol addiction, taking in clients from Abingdon-on-Thames and able to provide treatment whilst maintaining your privacy and dignity.

Our staff are experienced with addiction rehabilitation, so no matter your situation, they can help.

Is Rehab the Right Choice?

Going to rehab is a big decision, and there are many things to consider before making it. You need to consider the severity of your addiction, what type of treatment you want, whether you have additional mental health issues and what you want to achieve.

Inpatient vs Outpatient

The type of treatment you need utterly depends on your situation. There are two main pathways through addiction treatment, inpatient and outpatient.

  • Inpatient: Inpatient rehabilitation is when you go into a treatment centre and live there for the duration of your programme. If you have a severe addiction or want to focus on your treatment utterly, this is an effective option. Here, your life will have structure, consistent treatment sessions, and you will be amongst expert staff and peers.
  • Outpatient: This type of addiction treatment offers more flexibility and is usually cheaper, where you can attend rehab during the day but sleep at home. People opt for this when they have life commitments they cannot work around, and their addiction is not too severe.

Addictions We Treat

At Cassiobury Court, we can help treat a range of addictions, most commonly drug and alcohol addictions.

Drug Addiction

Drugs can affect all aspects of your life, ruining your physical and mental health, costing you your livelihood and destroying relationships. Rehab can help you uncover the reasons behind your addiction, get you physically clean, and you can begin to learn healthier coping strategies.

Not all drug addictions are the same, so treatment routes can be different depending on what substance you are dependent on. Drug addictions we can treat include:

Alcohol Addiction

Alcohol addiction can be just as destructive as drug addiction. Those who drink heavily will often suffer from health issues that can be long-lasting and fatal, damage relationships and start living a life that isn’t productive to anyone. Rehab is crucial, as there you can safely detox from alcohol, get much-needed structure in your life and learn how to live a sober and more fulfilling life.

Signs of Addiction

Addiction is not the same for everyone, but there are common signs that can show you that you or someone you know may be struggling.

Possible signs of addiction to watch out for include:

  • Tried to stop and been unable to
  • Growing tolerance of alcohol or substances
  • Withdrawal symptoms when you stop
  • Becoming more secretive and lying about addiction
  • Continuing to drink/use drugs despite negative effects
  • Neglecting everyday responsibilities (work, social, school, relationships)

The Rehab Process

Not knowing what rehab is like can make it seem scary and unwieldy; the process, though, is smooth and easy. At Cassiobury Court, we offer personalised treatment programmes, so whilst every element of your time may be different from others, there is a similar pathway.

Admission

Our admissions process is straightforward and designed to work around you. Everything can be essentially sorted out during your initial phone call, and you can complete a pre-admission screening.

Typically, people stay at Cassiobury Court for 10 to 28 days. Some may take longer, up to 90+ days if they need additional support.

Detox

Firstly, you need to end your physical dependence on the substance. Drug or alcohol detox is the process of clearing the harmful toxins from your body by stopping your intake of harmful substances. At Cassiobury Court, you’ll undergo detox with medical supervision in a comfortable setting, being medicated if needed to lessen withdrawal symptoms.

Treatment

The main work in rehab is done through therapy. We offer a range of individual and group sessions to help you better understand your addiction, break negative patterns and learn healthier coping mechanisms that will prepare you for life beyond rehab.

Aftercare

Recovery doesn’t end when you complete your treatment programme. We offer a free year of aftercare support, giving you access to a weekly peer support group, a personalised aftercare plan and additional support if you need it to help avoid a relapse in those critical early months of sobriety.

Dual Diagnosis

Cassiobury Court also treats dual diagnosis cases. Dual diagnosis is when someone with an addiction is also suffering from a mental health issue. This is fairly common, as around 74% of people entering treatment in the UK last year had a mental health need too.

A really great place to get back on your feet and begin recovery. Staff could not be more helpful, therapy and groups are generally excellent. Rooms are very clean and well appointed, though size and ensuite is a bit of a lottery. Food is really very good, everyones tastes are catered for and in abundance. Snacks water juices, tea’s and coffee’s available 247. I would highly recommend Cassio to anyone looking to get sober change there life.

My experience at CC has been truly life-changing. During my 4-week stay I managed to turn my life around with the help of the recovery programme CC has given me. All staff are very professional, supportive, friendly and approachable. I could turn to anyone at any time of the day if I needed help or simply anyone to talk to. The sessions are very informative and engaging. The feeling of community is unparallelled. I enjoyed a combination of 1-2-1 meetings/therapy sessions, group workshops, creative sessions and social activities. taught about multiple concepts and techniques to enable my recover. The facility itself, alongside with the quality of food and housekeeping is excellent. The atmosphere at CC made me feel safe, welcomed and understood. I would strongly recommend CC to any sufferingaddicts seeking a long-term recovery. My only suggestion was to arrange activities between group meetings and some exercise equipment. The table tennis table and the TV in the main group meeting room needs fixing for normal TV programmes. Apart fruthe issues above I would recommend CC for rehabilitation

Well well well… what an experience I have had during my time in Cassiobury Court. 6 months I have spent in the building. I came in as a broken girl not knowing where to turn, I’m leaving here a positive woman, with a totally different outlook on life, I haven’t learnt so much about myself and also about the mind uttering substances that change your life for the worst.
The staff is Cassiobury Court are indescribable, they showed me love when I didn’t love myself, they believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and most of all they helped shape me into the girl I am today. The house keeping was on point as was the maintenance and also the food.
I cannot recommend this place enough.
This building and the staff have that much of a special place e in my heart I even had a tattoo done.
I’m so grateful for you all and will forever appreciate you❤️

I have recently completed a 28 day stay at Cassiobury Court (CC) Rehabilitation Facility.

I walked up to the gates of CC in total despair. I was a broken man. A man with no purpose in life. I had been drinking for 31 years. I had lost everything – family, friends, job, houses, cars and I hated myself with a passion! I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. All because of the dreaded disease called ALCOHOL! I wasn’t living, just merely existing!

I came to realise that I was unable to beat my addiction on my own. I had no choice but to surrender and ask for help. I hadn’t asked anyone for help in all my life – my ego and pride when drinking was just too big!

I needed help from CC and the staff certainly delivered on all levels. My stay at CC was very enlightening – a phenomenal experience! The best decision I have ever made in my life! A very humbling experience.

The staff at CC are all very loving, caring and willing to help their clients to succeed. It’s like they do what they do because they genuinely want to support you and save your life from addiction. They all treat you with the utmost respect and all are willing to meet your specific needs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot praise the staff at CC enough for all the love, care support and help they give to every client; Management, Therapists, Key Workers, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping and Maintenance.
The staff all treat you as an equal and I now regard them all as family – “My CC family!”.

The group sessions are taken by Therapists and Key Workers who all conduct themselves in a very professional manner. The daily schedule is very structured. The staff who run these sessions all have great expertise and experience to help you on your journey to recovery. I have certainly left CC with the tools I need to sustain many happy and sober years ahead of me. I am eternally grateful to them for giving me this opportunity!

The setting of CC is one of tranquility. It is in very peaceful surroundings. The is a lovely courtyard/gardens available for clients and staff to use at their leisure. The rooms and communal areas are all well maintained. The food is outstanding and fully trained staff are available for all you medical, dietry and general requirements.

My overall experience of CC is sensational! I highly recommend that if you are suffering from addiction and want the best opportunity to rebuild your life and future, then your journey to recovery should start at CC.

My love and best wishes to all at CC.

I have spent some time at Cassiobury Court over the last 6 months and cannot speak more highly of the experience. I admitted myself for alcohol addiction and was very scared when I arrived and did not have any idea what to expect. The staff could not have been kinder to me. I wanted to leave on day 2 because I was very anxious and out of my comfort zone, but fortunately staff members calmed me down and I ended up staying which I am very glad about. The schedule is very good with group sessions, some one on one sessions and therapy sessions.
The food is excellent and the chefs are very accommodating if you wish to have something different. There is a daily trip to the local shop to get any bits you may need.
All the staff are amazing, the recovery workers, the management, the chefs and kitchen staff and all that work at Cassiobury are all so caring and it really shows.
You have time to get to know the rest of the group and I ended up building close bonds and have kept in contact with many that I met in Cassiobury (and I bump into people I met at meetings outside as well as on the aftercare calls).
All in all, if your are considering a treatment centre then I would highly recommend Cassiobury Court, I am very grateful for my time there.
