Drug and Alcohol Rehab Tiverton

Cassiobury Court is a private residential rehab that provides professional addiction treatment support to those who need it in Tiverton.

Whilst there were 2,310 adults in treatment for drug and alcohol dependence in 2023/24 in the county, only 13% of adults eligible for alcohol-dependence treatment in Devon were getting the help they need.

If you’re in Tiverton and feel like you can’t get the support you need, Cassiobury Court could help. We are a specialist residential drug and alcohol treatment centre in Watford that combines medically managed detoxification, psychological therapies and multidisciplinary support for a personalised addiction treatment approach.

When Should You Consider Drug or Alcohol Rehab in Tiverton?

Going to rehab is a big decision to make. Before deciding, you need to consider your physical and mental health, severity of your addiction, rehab history and whether you are in an unstable environment.

Professional treatment might be right for you if you have tried to stop and experienced severe withdrawal symptoms. Drug and alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous without clinical supervision.

Signs of Drug and Alcohol Addiction

Other signs that may indicate you have a substance abuse issue include:

  • Strong cravings
  • Prioritising drugs and alcohol over everyday responsibilities
  • Continued use despite negative consequences
  • Using more than intended

Drug Addictions We Provide Treatment for at Cassiobury Court

Not every addiction is the same. Different approaches are needed depending on the substance, your dependence and withdrawal needs.

The addictions we treat at Cassiobury Court include:

Alcohol Addiction and Dependence

Alcohol addiction is a recognised health condition, capable of damaging your physical and mental health, personal life and causing long-lasting problems.

Casual drinking can develop quickly into something harmful and an addiction. Knowing the signs could mean you get help sooner, before the problem becomes entrenched.

Signs to be aware of include:

  • Experience withdrawal
  • Tried to stop/cut down and failed
  • Drink more due to increased tolerance
  • Find it hard to stop when you start

Residential and Outpatient Addiction Treatment Options in Tiverton

There are two main pathways through addiction recovery: inpatient and outpatient treatment.

  • Inpatient treatment – Private residential treatment means you complete treatment at the centre, living there and working through a structured environment with a routine.
  • Outpatient treatment – You stay in Tiverton, working with local resources such as Waythrough and fit your treatment around your life.

Residential treatment is better for those with a severe addiction, and you require a medical detox. Outpatient may be better suited if you are less at risk of severe withdrawal, in a stable environment and have a strong support network around you.

Unsure what path is best? Call our admissions team at 0800 001 4070 for a confidential assessment.

I am Sam and I arrived at Cassiobury Court for 28 days at the end of May. This was my second rehab experience.

I cannot praise Cassiobury Court enough. Each day was well structured and every group session was designed to give you different tools to sobriety. I learnt so much from all the therapists and key workers that were taking the sessions due to my lack of understanding of this illness. I was in a place where I was made to feel comfortable and no question were silly which encouraged me to dig deeper and ask questions around my illness and myrecovery.

Cassiobury Court approach to recovery, worked very well for me. It was not like Boot Camp. They actually gave me time to digest the information that was given and time to absorb what was said they kind of gave me the balance to learn, but also do every day life things, I also had time to reflect and focus on myself

I would encourage any newcomers to rehab to engage in many group sessions as they can and take out as much as they can out of these sessions the 12 step AA program was explained to me in such a simple way and gave me the confidence to work it.

I would like to give a special thanks to my key worker as she has helped me find a a new sober, Sam. My key worker from the start has been open and honest which has helped me with my recovery.

I would like to also thank all the staff at Cassiobury Court that have had an impact on my road to recovery.

A special thanks to the kitchen staff and the cleaning staff, as by them doing what they do gave me time to focus on myself and not have to worry about cooking and cleaning. The kitchen staff have made sure that I have been eating properly and have helped me build up my strength.

Overall, Cassiobury Court is the place to come to if in need of a medical detox or need to understand what is involved in recovery and give you the opportunity on how to get away from addiction It’s like being given a second sober life.

I cannot thank Cassiobury Court enough.

I came into Cassiobury Court after years of trying to stop on my own, after years of abusing myself physically and mentally i finally came in with the willingness to ask for help and that is what i recieved.
Although nervous when I first came in i was greeted with an incredibly friendly and supportive team, I was made to feel at ease and given privacy but i also knew help was ready and available when i needed it

The workshops, counselling and advice all felt they were tailored to me rather then just being another client and i was encouraged to start seeing the postives of life rather then the negatives, I enjoyed every workshop and the social aspect that came with meeting a group of like minded people and felt that i was being heard and understood.
Since leaving i have re started my life and had support from everyone along the way

I would highly recommend them. To anyone who feels they may be struggling.

A really great place to get back on your feet and begin recovery. Staff could not be more helpful, therapy and groups are generally excellent. Rooms are very clean and well appointed, though size and ensuite is a bit of a lottery. Food is really very good, everyones tastes are catered for and in abundance. Snacks water juices, tea’s and coffee’s available 247. I would highly recommend Cassio to anyone looking to get sober change there life.

It’s a pleasure to have been a client at Cassiobury Court. From the moment I arrived I felt like a welcome part of the family, it’s non judgmental and compassionate approach to recovery has differed from any center which I have previously attended.
The structure allowed me to develop at my own pace and to work through my recovery journey, which started with me at an all time low. When I entered I was a shell of a person, after a toxic relationship. My substance misuse and eating disorder was out of control and my health, mental and physical, was deteriorating rapidly.

The staff, each with there own expertise and experience guided me compassionately and from a genuine place of kindness and warmth.

The facilities, all departments from housekeeping, kitchen to admin and support staff, have made a genuine difference to the person I am leaving as.
Strong, rebuilt and confident. Ready to step into a life of sobriety and positivity.

I have made life long friends and made life long changes thanks to Cassiobury.

I can genuinely recommend Cassiobury, to anyone who has found themselves in the depths of there addiction, they will help you find the path out, however unmanageable life may seem.

All my love to the team there and to the clients past, present and future

I have recently completed a 28 day stay at Cassiobury Court (CC) Rehabilitation Facility.

I walked up to the gates of CC in total despair. I was a broken man. A man with no purpose in life. I had been drinking for 31 years. I had lost everything – family, friends, job, houses, cars and I hated myself with a passion! I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror. All because of the dreaded disease called ALCOHOL! I wasn’t living, just merely existing!

I came to realise that I was unable to beat my addiction on my own. I had no choice but to surrender and ask for help. I hadn’t asked anyone for help in all my life – my ego and pride when drinking was just too big!

I needed help from CC and the staff certainly delivered on all levels. My stay at CC was very enlightening – a phenomenal experience! The best decision I have ever made in my life! A very humbling experience.

The staff at CC are all very loving, caring and willing to help their clients to succeed. It’s like they do what they do because they genuinely want to support you and save your life from addiction. They all treat you with the utmost respect and all are willing to meet your specific needs. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot praise the staff at CC enough for all the love, care support and help they give to every client; Management, Therapists, Key Workers, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping and Maintenance.
The staff all treat you as an equal and I now regard them all as family – “My CC family!”.

The group sessions are taken by Therapists and Key Workers who all conduct themselves in a very professional manner. The daily schedule is very structured. The staff who run these sessions all have great expertise and experience to help you on your journey to recovery. I have certainly left CC with the tools I need to sustain many happy and sober years ahead of me. I am eternally grateful to them for giving me this opportunity!

The setting of CC is one of tranquility. It is in very peaceful surroundings. The is a lovely courtyard/gardens available for clients and staff to use at their leisure. The rooms and communal areas are all well maintained. The food is outstanding and fully trained staff are available for all you medical, dietry and general requirements.

My overall experience of CC is sensational! I highly recommend that if you are suffering from addiction and want the best opportunity to rebuild your life and future, then your journey to recovery should start at CC.

My love and best wishes to all at CC.

What Happens During Residential Rehab at Cassiobury Court?

Not knowing what to expect at rehab can stop you from getting the help you need. The process is as straightforward and always led by you.

Addiction Assessment and Admission

Our admissions process can begin during your initial enquiry. Over the phone, we can do a pre-admission screening, go through treatment options, discuss costs, and decide your admission date.

When you arrive, you’ll go through a more thorough assessment, looking at your physical and mental health, learning more about you and your addiction and treatment history. From this medical assessment and a talk with your recovery support worker, we’ll work out an individual treatment plan within 24-48 hours of you arriving at Cassiobury Court.

Medically Managed Drug and Alcohol Detox

Detox can be the first and important step of treatment. If you are physically dependent on a substance, your body needs time to end that dependence and start to recover.

We provide medically managed detox to those who need it. You’ll receive medication to help ease withdrawal symptoms and be under 24/7 care in a safe and comfortable environment. What determines your detox programme are factors like your current health, severity of symptoms and what substances you have been using.

Addiction Therapy and Psychological Treatment

Therapy is important in rehab, giving you the space and resources to get to the root causes of your addiction and work on skills to help change behaviours and deal with triggers.

You won’t take part in every therapy, as what you do is personal to you, based on your care plan. Therapies you may participate in at Cassiobury Court include:

Recovery Planning and Support After Rehab

Planning and routines can be critical to recovery and we offer 12 months of free aftercare to those who complete a 28-day treatment programme with us. We’ll also help you in rehab ready yourself for life afterwards, working on recovery planning, developing coping strategies and recognising potential triggers.

We’ll encourage you to connect with peer support networks. Becoming familiar with meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Cocaine Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous can help you feel less alone and connected to others when you leave.

If returning to Tiverton, you can get ongoing community support through Devon’s Together drug and alcohol service.

Dual Diagnosis Programmes

Addiction issues will often exist alongside mental health problems such as depression, anxiety and trauma-related symptoms.

During your assessments, we’ll figure out whether you require integrated treatment; dealing with your addiction and mental health issues can be treated simultaneously. This approach will depend on many factors and may not always be appropriate or correct for us to treat if your mental health needs are complex. Additional mental health support may be required to help you.

Family Support During Rehab

We provide family support for those who want to be involved in treatment efforts, and it is agreed by our staff and the resident that it can help.

To support families, we put on a weekly Family Support Group every Saturday. These sessions can help relatives learn more about addiction and recovery, prepare for the homecoming and improve communication.

How Long Does Residential Rehab Last?

Rehab should last as long as you need it to be in the right health and space to return to your life. Factors we consider before we feel you’re ready to leave include severity of addiction, physical and psychological health and your treatment progress.

We offer a range of programme lengths of 10, 14, 21 and 28 days. You can stay past 28 days, depending on your budget and clinical needs.

How to Stop Alcohol Sweats

Sweating is a common physical response when you drink. It can occur while you are drinking, when you’re suffering from a hangover or as a symptom during withdrawal.
