Who We Are

Cassiobury Court is a specialist residential drug and alcohol rehab and treatment centre for adults aged 18 and over, located in Richmond Drive, Watford, alongside the beautiful Cassiobury Park and within easy reach of London and the wider UK transport network. We provide evidence-based care within a safe, therapeutic environment, combining medically managed detox, personalised psychological therapies and compassionate support to help individuals achieve lasting recovery and improved wellbeing.

Since we opened in 2011, we have supported more than 3,000 people through structured, evidence-based treatment programmes. Our clients include individuals, their families, and people referred by employers, GPs, and other healthcare providers. Whether you are looking for help for the first time or have struggled through previous attempts at recovery, our approach is the same. Personalised, compassionate, and focused entirely on change that will last.

Our 24 bed facility offers a calm, confidential residential environment where individuals can focus fully on recovery. We are able to accept private and statutory admissions, along with self-referrals, family referrals and employer referrals, and our admissions team is available 7 days a week.

Our Approach to Care

At Cassiobury Court, we provide recovery-focused substance misuse treatment within a safe, supportive environment that promotes safe, positive risk management and supports sustainable recovery. By combining clinical expertise with person-centred care, we then tailor treatment to individual needs, circumstances and recovery goals, working alongside every person from medically managed detox through to therapy and rehabilitation.

For some people, treatment starts with a medically managed detox to support withdrawal safely and as comfortably as possible. After this stage comes tailored therapeutic programmes designed around longer-term recovery aims.

Our team includes consultant psychiatrists, doctors, nurses, psychologists, social workers and also recovery support workers, working collaboratively to deliver evidence based care tailored to each individual and their own recovery journey.

We hold high professional standards at our CQC-registered rehab clinic. Many of our recovery support workers also bring lived experience of recovery, which offers a unique level of understanding, empathy and hope. Their insight helps inspire confidence and show that lasting recovery really is possible.

Cassiobury is a registered residential substance misuse service, independently inspected and rated by the CQC, England’s healthcare regulator. We’re proud to say that we were rated “Good” across all five domains in our recent assessment.

I have just finished up my treatment at Cassiobury Court which is my 2nd in two years. Initially I had gone for only 2 weeks but did 21 days (28 days is still recommended). The staff was absolutely incredibly; knowledgable, supportive, organised and REAL. Addiction is a serious disease and if you are serious about recovery and want to live a strong, healthier, more spiritual and joyful life - you should admit you are powerlessness and get the support from Cassiobury Court. The programs are incredibly valuable in group settings to hear other like experiences with the addition of private `Step (1-3) work and therapy sessions with professionals. I’ve benefitted hugely from my treatment at Cassiobury Court. In fact I’ve had the best month of the last 2 years. The staff here are the best of the best and I will always recommend this amazing place to anyone I know who requires treatment for any known addiction. Rafa the Manager, Martin, Steve, Seth, Gerard, Oli, Jane, Alison, Rebecca, Paul & George are superb as well as Alan, Paula, Helen and Steve with the unrivalled catering. Cassiobury Court is also excellent value for money compared to other far more expensive but inferior Treatment Clinics. I’m very much looking forward to returning to Chair group meetings in the future. Many thanks to everyone. You’ll always remain affectionately in my heart. Rob.

I stayed at Cassiobury Court for 28 days in December 2021 to January 2022 and I'm now 110 days clean and sober. The level of care and support you receive here from all the staff is outstanding. From admissions, to leaving through to aftercare I cannot thank everybody enough. They tirelessly go above and beyond to help every individual to get them back on track with detox, step work, one-to-one therapy, group therapy, acupuncture, fitness and good food. Each patient is different and the staff keep a very close eye on each individuals personal circumstances and try to guide them to the best of their abilities. Truely inspirational as have all been through the hell of addiction themselves so there is zero judgement. If you want it bad enough this is the safest environment to be in. I actually miss them all!!!

I benefitted greatly at cassiobury court. I came in willing to work hard and overcome my mental blockages which kept me relapsing. The one to one's with the therapist and going through the steps really humbled me. I know now how my head works and will never take my sobriety for granted ever again. I have a structure back in my life I.e food, sleep, exercise and have the tools I need to push on and lead a good and spiritual life. Thank you to all the Cassiobury team. From the housekeeping staff to management has been excellent. I would strongly recommend to anyone to stay for 28 days like I did as its turned my life around. Had the most amazing experience at Cassiobury Court, guided me through my issues and left me full of knowledge, positivity and hope. The amazing staff are always smiling, always offering sound advice when needed, and always there if you just need a chat, they treat you as their peers and make you feel instantly relaxed. Couldn't recommend the place more - go in with an open mind, be honest about everything and be willing to recover! (P.s. also great food ?)

I’ve very recently attended the Cassiobury Court rehab facility and highly recommend the services provided. Set in a quiet location with enclosed courtyard the bedrooms, tutorial rooms and dining rooms are well maintained, impeccably clean and mostly modern internally The biggest plus is the wealth of experience and quality of counsellors, tutors and many of the supporting staff who themselves are recovering alcoholics/ addicts. Conducted in a structured but relaxed atmosphere the breadth and depth of tuition and counselling is such that it stimulates the open, positive participation of Clients whilst always being supportive of both the group and the individual. This is greatly enhanced with the attendance of local ‘live’ external CA meetings, zoom meetings and visiting ‘shares’ from recovering addicts. With superb catering and even a washing and cleaning service included It’s an experience that bettered my expectations and was great fun also.

I entered through the gates of Cassiobury court a very frightened and ill women. This was my first time in treatment and from the start I was made to feel welcome and loved by all the staff. Once going through my detox , I finally started joining the group workshops and meeting my peers. This place is amazing , every day you have a routine starting with breakfast and then onto group lessons and ex clients coming in to share their journey with you , which is the best thing ever as they have walked the same steps as you and you can really relate to them and see the hope that their is life after addiction . You are encouraged to work hard but also have some freedom to rest if needed. I found my mind opening to finally understand the illness I have been suffering from and to see its not only ME on my own , there are other people like me out there. Nearly every staff member is in recovery , which is so important as they understand what you are going through and teach you the tools to be able to maintain this once you leave rehab . You also have the opportunity to go to AA and CA meetings in Watford which is great as you go as a group and then gives you the confidence to continue once you leave . My keyworker was Rebecca and can not thank her enough , she really is AMAZING and has helped me so much . She is very honest and open and shares her journey with you which gives you the encouragement to feel safe and be able to open up and share yours with her xx Every member of staff in this place is full of so much knowledge and kindness . You always have someone to talk to if you need a chat or any help . The food is also fantastic ,Alan and Paula do an amazing job . There is menu every day and if you don't like what is on offer you can always ask them to make you something else. Sam and her team do a brilliant job of keeping your rooms clean /maintenance of the building . And again if there is anything you are not happy with or need you can always go to Sam and she will do her best to help you I have been very lucky to have meet some fantastic and supportive peers at my time in CC. I recently spent time at Cassiobury Court and I genuinely can’t speak highly enough of the experience. The support staff were exceptional. The therapists were insightful, grounded, and actually listened. Even the behind-the-scenes team, the cleaners and the chefs, played a huge part in making the environment feel safe and cared for. Special mention to Alan in the kitchen. What stood out most was how comprehensive the programme is. It doesn’t just scratch the surface of addiction, it goes deeper, looking at the patterns, the behaviours, and the root causes, all delivered with real care and respect. If someone is serious about getting support, this is a place that truly delivers. Like everything in life, you get out what you put in. Keep up the amazing work- you’re saving lives.
